Making the move from a paper-based system to software

Bromford were using a chiefly paper-based system that was costly in terms of time and resources. Using the Effective system, Health and Safety Advisor Catherine Powell and her team can now have visibility of data across multiple sites, facilitating better communication.

Difficulty gathering data for reports with old system

With a paper-based system, it was difficult for Catherine and her team to generate the monthly reports that they needed. Using our safety reporting software, reports can be collated across multiple KPI’s, and management can be more proactive with the data they gather.

Under-reporting issues

The old system had problems when it came to reporting incidents or ensuring that audits and checklists were completed. With the Effective Software Incidents module, there has been a 100% increase in near-miss reporting, 97.5% compliance in the Plant module, and an average of 90% compliance with contractor documentation.

Paper-based systems were no longer meeting Bromford’s safety needs. As a business with multiple locations, their monthly reports were taking up a significant amount of time and resources to compile. Because of this, assessing health and safety compliance across the organisation was difficult.

The reporting function of the software allows the H&S team to produce and filter reports by several different categories, while the Insights dashboards let them to quickly see compliance across the business, regardless of location.
